On 1 July 2009, Sweden took over the Presidency of the European Union. On account of the Presidency, the International Programme Office for Education and Training is arranging four conferences.

Learning by leaving – a joint conference for European mobility networks
Place: Uppsala
Date: 19-20 November
According to the EU High Level Expert Forum on Mobility the European youth generation will diminish by 10 percent, by 2020. This will have impact on our society as well as economy. At the same time global competition will increase.
Under the title “Learning by leaving – a joint conference for European mobility networks”, representatives for the different Networks from all over Europe will be given the opportunity to discuss potential cooperation and mutual challenges in workshop format.

Closing Conference of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009

Europe needs to increase its capacity for creativity and innovation for both social and economic reasons. The EU Commission has, therefore, declared 2009 the European Year of Creativity and Innovation as an effective way of meeting the challenges facing Europe.
